Withakay - Voices in My Head

Released: 17/02/2013
After some superb releases with us in 2012, Withakay returns to the label with yet another great release. His previous releases gained some feedback from DJs such as Nick Warren, Tilt, Cid Inc and Luke Porter. We hope this continues with his first release of 2013.
Filled with elements of deep melodic techno, ‘Voices In My Head’ has a wonderfully melancholic feel to it. Making great use of his modular synth, the track features Withakay’s unique analogue sound. He was also kind enough to provide us with the alt.mix, for those who like a glitchy alternative sound.
Backing up the original mixes are two superb remixes from LoQuai and Onkakmir. Each providing a different take on the orignal mix, the guys have done amazing jobs here, reworking the track in to their own style. The remixes complete the package perfectly, but definitely make it hard to pick a favourite!

Che Armstrong - Dexter

Released: 21/01/2013
To kick-off 2013, label boss Che Armstrong has teamed up DarXoul for the next relase on Axon. Collectively, support of their previous releases has come from the likes of Cid Inc, Jaytech, Dubfire and Chris Lake! We hope this support continues, and it’s great to welcome the guys back for the new year.
Named and inspired by Che’s favourite TV show, ‘Dexter’ is a great progressive house track. The track has a nice and dark underground feel, with some tasty tech influences thrown in for good measure. The track should work well for a lot of DJs, and is ready to be played on a big system.
Returning to the label is Chris Johnson, with his superb remix of ‘Dexter’. Chris gives the track a smooth and laidback feel. Keeping it deep and progressive, Chris has added some amazing melodic elements, on top of a grooving bass line. Top work here!

Eliogold - Meltemi EP

Released: 18/09/2012
For the 6th release on Axon, we’d like to introduce a relitively new producer by the name of Eliogold. The US based Italian has some superb production skills, and fuses together some great techno, deep house and tech hosue sounds… We think he’ll fit right in, here at Axon!
His debut EP features ‘Meltemi’, which has solid feel and deep groove. The track has elements of techno and tech house, with some elements of progressive. Also on the EP is ‘Eat That Piano’, which shows Eliogold’s versatility. This one has more of a deep house sound. and again, has some tech house influences.
Overall, a great EP that should crossover well and appeal to many DJs.

David Calo - Slowly EP

Released: 07/08/2012
The next release on Axon comes from Argentinian producer, David Calo. Although this is his debut release, he’s already off to a promising start in his career. He’s recently been supported by the legendary Nick Warren, as well as having a track signed to Nick’s Hope label. Remember where you heard him first, and remember the name David Calo.
This EP certainly shows the talent and vesatility of David. It features the techno track ‘Slowly’, which has a great groove and also dips it’s toe in to melodic territory. On the flip-side you have ‘Reser’, which is a slick deep house track. Both tracks compliment eachother well on the EP, and have a progressive undertone, making them vertile enough for most DJs sets.

Che Armstrong - Onda Fuerza EP

Released: 12/07/2012
The next release on Axon comes from label manager/A&R, Ché Armstrong. Having previously released on labels such as Full Tilt and Neuroscience, his releases have seen the support of DJs including Dubfire, Paul Oakenfold and Chris Lake.
Ché has a great sound with techno and tech-house influences, built on a solid progressive house foundation. ‘Onda Fuerza’ has an almost Pryda-esque sound, and features a tasty bassline, alongside some great tech-influenced percussion. The subtle use of melody also works well, taking the track to the next level.
‘Assassin’ has a solid kick and big groovin’ bass line. Ché uses a great pitch-bend effect throughout the track, which adds some great movement and keeps the track interesting. Just watch out for the drop and the horn sound… Watch out for the ‘Assassin’.

Scotty.A’s extraordinary passion for music, coupled a dedication to his craft, is certain to see his career soar in the coming months… We’re very pleased to welcome him to the Axon family.
Both ‘Those Who Wait’ and ‘Drifiting’ are perfect examples of Scotty.A’s sound, fusing together melodic techno, tech house and deep progressive.
